Editorial Review for YMCA – by Whitney Friedlander
In Short
The first U.S. branch of the YMCA started in Boston in 1851; there are now more than 2,500 locations nationwide, making it the country's largest nonprofit community service program. Each YMCA reflects the community it's in, offering differing services based on the area. Most include fitness areas with aerobic equipment, classes and racquetball and tennis courts. Many also have day care and after-school programs, as well as summer day camps.

Such a great community asset! A place where I always feel welcomed and a place for me to "get away!" A wonderful variety of fitness machines and classes. I have met many new people in group fitness classes here, unlike other facilities where it seems like everyone is just interested in getting in and out. My children LOVE participating in the swim and dance programs. Each of these departments has wonderful instructors who provide safe, fun classes and are enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge. My daughter would go to dance class all day every day if given the chance! The YMCA has had such a positive impact on the health of my family and I highly recommend their services to every community member!
Pros: great new spacious addition!
